Kalamata Sundried Figs / SUNDRIED KALAMATA FIGS
Since ancient times, the microclimate of Messinia has been suitable for the production of dried Kalamata figs, known as chapela or chapelosyko. Dry Kalamata figs are characterized by high nutritional value since they are rich in fiber, sugars, potassium, magnesium, selenium and calcium and are considered a superfood.
*funfact: Alexander the Great on his expedition to Asia had his army eat dried figs to boost their physical strength.
